She Did Not Want To Be An Actor
Lively has been acting for over a decade. She made impressive performances in many films and you would really think that it was her very passion. Surprisingly, she really did not want to be an actor.
She previously said to Radio Free, “it was so much a part of my life that I never felt a desire for it. And it seemed like such a nightmare. That [was] the last thing in the world I want[ed] to do. And I trained my whole life to go to Stanford. And my brother Eric… He said, ‘I think you’re going to be an actress.’ He [told] his agents, ‘You have to start sending Blake out on auditions.’ And I didn’t want to make him mad because he’s such a good brother, so I just went on auditions to appease him. And then after a few months of auditioning, I got Sisterhood.”
Since then Lively landed on role after role until her fame has skyrocketed enormously. Well, she’s good at it and she’s strikingly beautiful.

Lively loves cooking. To master her cooking skills, she takes cooking lessons in several academies all over the world.

She’s Married To Equally Gorgeous Actor Ryan Reynolds
Lively has been married to actor Ryan Reynolds since 2012 at Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. The couple met while filming Green Lantern.
Before becoming an official couple, it started with an awkward encounter. They went on a double date, Lively with another guy and Reynolds dated another girl.
“We were buddies then,” Reynolds told Entertainment Weekly’s SiriusXM show. “I remember it was funny because for about a year after Green Lantern had come and gone and we were both single. We went on a double date. She was on a date with another guy and I was on a date with another girl – and it was like the most awkward date for the respective parties because we were just like fireworks coming across.”
“That was the most awkward date because we were just like fireworks coming across,” the actor continued. “It was weird at first but we were buddies for a long time. I think it’s the best way to have a relationship is to start as friends.”

She’s Always True To Herself
The actress has really grown into herself. She’s a candid gal who’s an ideal role model for any artists out there who want to have both a family and a career.
She’s so honest even about her tough experience with one of her entrepreneurial ventures. In 2014, she launched her own website called Preserve. It was meant to be a marketplace which held not only objects but their stories, as well as how-to tips. A year later she shared with Vogue that she had to take it down and re-launch it after upgrades and improvements.
“It’s very exciting and it’s also incredibly scary,” told Lively to Vogue about shutting down Preserve. “I never thought I would have the bravery to actually do that, to take the site dark and to say, ‘You know what? I haven’t created something that is as true and impactful as I know it can and will be. And I’m not going to continue to chase my tail and continue to put a product out there that we, as a team, are not proud of.’”
The actress anticipated some backlash and criticisms, but she’s ready to face them. She wanted to give herself one more shot at it.
“I know what it’ll look like, what I’m facing publicly, that people are just going to have a heyday with this. But it’s so much worse to continue to put something out there—to ask my team to put something out there—that isn’t the best we can do. I’m going to take this hit, and the only way I can prove all the negative reactions wrong is to come back with a plan that will rock people,” Lively said.
“And I have that plan. And I’m so excited about it, and that’s what gave me the courage to do this, to say, ‘You know what, I’m going to give myself one more shot at this, and I really have to do it as well as I can do it this time.’ And that is the only thing that will impact people. And that’s what I’m doing. And I’m totally terrified out of my mind!”
She’s Not Letting The Haters Bother Her
When Vogue asked how she’s going to fight the negative criticism she’s likely going to receive for shuttering her website, the actress replied “I’ve finally summoned the strength to take on whatever anybody says because I know I’m going to come back with something stronger. I’m proud of it and I can take it because I am a much harder critic on me than any nasty gossip rag. And that’s a good thing and a bad thing, but I just want to make myself and my family proud.”
Lively is living in the limelight for so long and it’s not uncommon for her to read some negative comments from the haters. But she has managed to not let them bother her.
“People like to gossip. They bond over it. They don’t bond over complimenting famous people,” she told vogue.
“I’m always the first person to defend Gwyneth Paltrow. Or any woman in a position of power, like Martha Stewart or Oprah, who gets burned. Because they have paved the path for so many other women who are doing something they believe in.”
She’s Into Interior Desogn
The actress has a lot of fun with interior design. According to an Instageam post, she even designs her friends’ homes for free.
“I design my friends homes. For free. Of all the bad decisions I’ve made, this may be the most fun,” she posted. “Thank you to my daughters for unknowingly loaning me your clothes for “fabric” inspo, thank you @dmitriyco for the stencils that are way too fun it’s not normal, thank you bathroom for having a lose tile that I could steal for more “fabric” inspo, and thank you mom for the sleeping disorder that keeps me up all night.”
She Styles Herself
Lively does not only like styling interiors. She’s showcased her artistic skills by styling herself.
In an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, the actress said that she likes to style herself and claimed it to be a chance for creative expression. “It’s a lot of work – I mean, it’s not hard in that we all dress ourselves every morning. So once you have the clothes, you just pick out what to wear like any other human being does. But it’s easier because you have access to clothes and so it’s not that hard,” she explained. “The hard part is going through all the fashion shows and screenshotting all the looks you like and calling them in. I have an assistant who helps in calling in the looks. But a lot of it is I have relationships with the designers.”
The actress has also ‘control issues’ and a ‘big ego’. She followed up by saying that she loves it, and she loves design and loves fashion.
“Probably because I have control issues and a big ego – that’s probably the honest answer,” she responded on why she prefers styling herself. “I just like it. I love design and I love fashion and it’s a way to be creative. In my job I get to be creative, but it’s over a period of time and so many other people are involved, whereas this is a beginning, middle and end, and I get to be creative and there’s an end date in the near future. It’s the same reason why I like doing my friends’ hair and makeup or cooking – you get to be creative and finish it. Whereas with my job you do it and then two years later it’s finished. It probably goes back to the control issues; it’s like, ‘Ok I did it, I completed it, it’s done!’”

Lively hinted some special accessories were coming when she told Women’s Wear Daily prior to the event about her look. “I just sent Lorraine Schwartz and Christian Louboutin my dress, and said, ‘Okay let’s do something special,'” she said then. “They’re making something custom for it. So it’s kind of nice, because I have a bunch of artists around me who I have direct relationships with. It’s sort of a group effort with that. I rely on people who do that for a living rather than outsourcing it to someone else.”
